What is Pads-it

Pads-it is an easy to use program designed to work with your Xerox printers. It has been tested on Windows™ XP, Windows™ 2000 and Windows™ Server 2003. Printers tested are Xerox™ 6135, Xerox™ 6155 and Xerox™ Nuvera™. Pads-it may work with other Xerox™ model printers and other brands of printers that accept a PostScript file using LPR (Line Printer Remote) printing.

As the name implies, Pads-it, makes padding jobs easy. It also provides an ideal solution when the offset stacking feature of your printer is not a practical solution. Pads-it also prints a "Banner Page" at the top of each job so you can identify the job. The "Banner Page" may be useful as a packaging label as well.

One example to consider; you receive a request to have 500 copies of one original printed and padded in 50's. Pads-it makes this simple by printing the 500 copies and separating them into 50's in one operation. This eliminates counting the sheets and manually slip sheeting them before applying padding cement.

Pads-it is also used when you are requested to print uncollated copies of multiple pages, separated into stacks of a specified quantity, to be packaged and shipped. The offset stacking feature of the printer fails at the packaging stage because there is no easy way to keep the stacks offset. When the requester receives the job, they cannot easily find the end of one stack and the beginning of another. Pads-it solves this problem with a slip sheet where the stacks would be offset making it easy for the requester to separate the stacks.

User Friendly Features

Simple Set-up. When you install Pads-it there is only one optional form that you may want to complete. This form asks for your company name and address to be used on the "Banner Page". All other information that Pads-it needs is built as the software is used.

Simple User Interface: Pads-it is simple and easy to use. There is nothing hiding deep in a menu. In fact there are minimal menu choices as almost everything you ever have to do can be done on the main Pads-it form.

Easy Paper Color and Printer Selections. Type the first one or two characters in the drop down boxes and the selection is complete.

Add Custom Paper Colors and Printers on the fly: If you type in a Paper Color or Printer name that is not known to Pads-it, you are prompted to save it or not. Once saved these items will always be available.

Delete Paper Colors and Printers easily: Simply right click on the selection and you are provided a choice to delete it or not.

Pads-it Remembers: From job to job and session to session, Pads-it remembers what printer you last used and makes that your selection. Pads-it remembers the location you found your last PDF file and Job Ticket File and takes you there the next time you browse for a file.

Pads-it imports Xerox® Job Tickets: If this feature is used the entire form is almost totally completed for you.

Pads-it-Plus imports webCRD® Job Tickets: This feature is an available add-on, if used the entire form is totally completed for you.
